Languages and Football: Privacy Notice


Purpose

The Languages and Football project is led by the University of Stirling and is funded by the British Academy. We would like to collect information on your views about the Languages and Football project. We will use it to evaluate the effectiveness of the project in meeting its aims, and to design future materials and activities. Our analysis is not about individuals and all data will be anonymised in any reports about the project.


The personal data that we will collect will depend on the nature of your involvement in the project. We will collect it only with your consent.

Teachers: data will include your name, email address, school.

Parents: data will include full name, pupil’s name.

Secondary School pupils: data will include name, gender, ethnicity, school, year group, attitudes towards language learning, and football.


Lawful basis

We can use your personal data if you have given your consent for it to be used. We can use data belonging to special categories, such ethnicity, for research and statistical purposes, in order to establish the extent to which the project meets its aims among distinct groups.


 Sharing your personal data

We sometimes need to make personal data available to other organisations. These might include contracted partners (who we have employed to process your personal data on our behalf) and/or other organisations (with whom we need to share your personal data for specific purposes). Where we need to share your personal data with others, we ensure that this data sharing complies with data protection legislation. The University of Stirling is the main body which will be processing your data.

Our partners include our independent evaluator, HMI Inspector Fiona Pate.


How long we will keep your personal data

The University of Stirling will keep your personal data for a maximum of ten years. After this time we will securely delete any personal data we have about you.


Your rights

You have the right to request to see a copy of the information we hold about you and to request corrections or deletions of the information that is no longer required. If you provide consent for us to use your personal data in the ways outline above you have the right to subsequently withdraw your consent.


In some circumstance you may have the right to object to the processing of your personal data, to request it is erased where it is no longer required for the stated purposes, or that inaccurate information about you is corrected.
